The Asian American & Laotian American community invests and integrates our resources and energy in increasing Community Development, Education, and Youth Development. With the combined efforts of family and community, we will build a successful future for our community.

The mission of the Wat Lao Phosiesattanak (WLP) (Wat Rio Linda) is to provide services, support, guidance, and resources to our Community in support of community development by collaborating with elderly, parents, youth, organizations, and community.

  • To promote and share Lao culture, custom and heritage with Lao communities and to the society at large
  • To teach, educate and practice Theravada Buddhism without any discrimination or separation by creed, sex, age, race, ethnic background and nation of origin
  • To provide teaching, support and counseling to Lao and Non-Lao youth, and to work towards gangs prevention and criminal association through the teaching of peaceful existence
  • To create a community center to provide counseling, teaching and learning Buddhism. As well as to serve as a meditation center
  • To motive and lead Lao community respond to community social needs, public emergency and natural disaster relief effort
  • To research and initiate programs and activities for Lao community to become self-sufficiency and contributing to the country.

Community Center - Meeting/Conference Hall:
  •  Infrastructure - the community will have a location to have meetings or conferences.
Wat Lao Phosiesattanak Temple of America serves as a place of worship, a center for the Laotian community and anyone interested in the Buddhist religion. The main goal of Buddhism is to create a harmonious and peaceful world by incorporating compassion, morality, generosity and meditation in its teachings. Wat Lao Phosiessattank's purpose is to educate and preserve the fundamental teachings of Buddhism to all generations.

Wat Lao Phosiesattanak was established in 1991 and was granted as a temple on March 28, 1994 and serves the growing population of the Laotian community in Sacramento. We welcome anyone who is interested in Buddhism. We are located at 4845 Rio Linda Blvd. Sacramento, CA 95838. We have 6 Monks who reside at the  Wat Lao Phosiesattanak Sacramento Temple and is a nonprofit organization under 501(1) 3 federal exempt.

The Temple is a 2.5+acres of land in the suburban area in the middle of Rio Linda Lot. This Temple has gain the faith of many supporters from the Laotian community and other Asian American communities. Many youth and other Laotian community from different Temples contribute by donating their time to support the Temple.
