Vision
The Asian American & Laotian American community invests and integrates our resources and energy in increasing Community Development, Education, and Youth Development. With the combined efforts of family and community, we will build a successful future for our community.

Mission
The mission of the Wat Lao Phosiesattanak (WLP) (Wat Rio Linda) is to provide services, support, guidance, and resources to our Community in support of community development by collaborating with elderly, parents, youth, organizations, and community.

Goals/Objectives
  • To promote and share Lao culture, custom and heritage with Lao communities and to the society at large
  • To teach, educate and practice Theravada Buddhism without any discrimination or separation by creed, sex, age, race, ethnic background and nation of origin
  • To provide teaching, support and counseling to Lao and Non-Lao youth, and to work towards gangs prevention and criminal association through the teaching of peaceful existence
  • To create a community center to provide counseling, teaching and learning Buddhism. As well as to serve as a meditation center
  • To motive and lead Lao community respond to community social needs, public emergency and natural disaster relief effort
  • To research and initiate programs and activities for Lao community to become self-sufficiency and contributing to the country.

Youth Services:

Senior Services will focus on:
  • Mental Health
  • Nutrition

  • Citizenship class
  • Support groups

Inter - Intra Generational group will focus on:

  • Generational and Cultural gaps
  • Emotional pain and family conflict issue
  • Diversity of families and cultural aspect in the community
  • Harmony and safety of the neighborhood

Community Center - Meeting/Conference Hall:
  •  Infrastructure - the community will have a location to have meetings or conferences.
